15 The Igoe Inn
The Igoe Inn was originally owned by the McGraths from Rhynagonnaught (a nearby townland). The ‘Widow’ Anne McGrath was registered in the 1901 Census as a shopkeeper and kept boarders. By 1911 the Widow was a farmer and publican. She was very well known and liked; most of her customers came from Rhynagonnaught and Derryard (townland on Kilrush Road).
Michael Igoe married her daughter Mary Kate McGrath and the pub changed to Igoes. The pub still remains within the family.
